The Farm
At Viewfield Romneys, we farm 2,500 acres of grass and hill land in South West Scotland around the towns of New Galloway and St John’s Town of Dalry. We consider ourselves to be grassland farmers as well as livestock farmers, as we believe that if the grass is healthy and well, the livestock will thrive.

Viewfield
The land at Viewfield, around New Galloway and St John’s Town of Dalry, ranges from lowland river flats to rolling countryside. The ewes are kept here all year round – we lamb, shear and handle our flock at Viewfield, and we summer the cows down here too.
Todstone
We run the Luing cows and winter hoggets at Todstone, a hill farm four miles north of St John’s Town of Dalry. Made up of 70% hill land and 30% grassland, it’s a good area for out wintering cows and calving.

The Farming Year
We run 2,800 Romney ewes, 1,000 hoggets, 100 Luing cows on our 2,500 acre grass/hill farm.
